We envision a future in which UNM's dynamic learning communities have limitless access to individualized information, unfettered by technology and distance. Therefore:

To provide an integrated information technology environment that advances the core missions of the University of New Mexico - education, research, and public service - as well as the operational processes that support these missions.

Creating Alignment of Strategic Plan Elements to Achieve the Vision
The figure below illustrates how the elements of the IT Strategic Plan are aligned to achieve the vision for IT at UNM. The Strategies, in the aggregate, are broad and far-reaching, touching on many areas of strategic opportunity that have been identified. Additionally, the strategies help to focus and give meaning to the coordinated IT endeavors of the University. Decisions related to Strategies and Activities are consistent with the Guiding Principles, aligned with the Mission, and aimed at achieving the Vision.
